Quiet games for two

Pull up a chair

Two seats, one link, and the sound of stone on wood.

Each game here is a single page. Open it, copy the invite link, send it to a friend: they take the other seat and everyone after them may watch. No accounts, nothing to install, and when you are on your own, a small computer will sit across from you.

kaya Go
A quiet place to play.

Nineteen lines, or thirteen, or nine. Surround more of the board than your opponent; capture what runs out of breath. The oldest game still played, with the sound of slate and shell on a kaya board.

shōbu Shōbu
Four boards, two moves.

Sixteen river stones a side on four small boards. Every turn is a set-up move on your side of the rope and the same move again, harder, on the other colour — where it may push. Clear one board of your opponent’s stones to win.

One link is the room

Opening a game makes a room and puts its address in your browser bar. Copy Invite Link and send it. Your first guest takes the other seat; anyone after that watches the same live board.

Nothing to install, nothing kept

Each game is a single page with no external code, fonts or audio. The sounds are made in your browser as the stones land. Moves travel over a free public relay, signed so that nobody can play a seat that isn’t theirs.

Learn at the table

Every game has a short walk-through with little boards to look at, a rules card, and a practice seat: play both sides yourself, or sit across from a small computer until your friend arrives.
